& your business

ISO Certification

ISO (International Standardisation Organisation) certification is a method of assurance that a business performs to a certain standard. It acts as a seal of approval for the service your business provides. Certification is independently granted by an appointed auditor and gives confidence to your customers and suppliers. Gaining and maintaining certification assures your customers and other interested parties, that you are operating to a high standard. This may regard quality, environmental impact, H&S, information security and much more.

It acts as seal of approval from a third party, and can give suppliers, customers and regulatory bodies the confidence to work with a certified company, knowing they are being held to the highest of standards. The ISO are an independent, non-governmental international organisation who brings together experts to share knowledge and develop international standards that support innovation and provide solutions to global challenges.

The ISO systems provide a stable and efficient structure to your companies management system.

Applying the requirements of ISO standards to your business gives you ample opportunity to identify, investigate and act upon any issues that are occurring.

There are many ISO standards each with their individual benefits:

  • 9001 - Ensuring quality of services to your customers

  • 14001 - Reduces your environmental impact

  • 45001 - Ensures a safe working environment for your staff

  • 27001 - Protects your organisations systems and data

  • 22301 - Protects your business from disruption

  • 22458 - Ensures your business provides an inclusive service

By no means is this list exhaustive. ISO have now published more than 24,000 individual standards globally. Some very specific, and some that cater to a broad range of industries.

The standards listed are the most commonly applied to business across the UK that we have had the pleasure of interacting with. If there is a specific standard you require assistance with, please get in touch to discuss.

Whether taking on one of more of these certification standards, the ISO format allows you to build a management system that focuses on mitigating risk, continually improving, and making the most of the resources available to you, whilst having the least impact on the people & environment around you.

Key benefit statements from our customers

Identifying Risks

Implementing ISO9001 has enabled our business to easily identify risks and mitigate the effects of these risks to make our business more efficient, more profitable, more traceable, more adaptable, and has engaged key members of staff. At first the workload of managing the system seemed daunting but as we applied the management system alongside our business processes we realised how beneficial 9001 is if applied properly.

Building Skills

The application of both ISO9001 & ISO45001 has required our business to apply resources to manage the standards. This initially seemed like a headache, but as time has gone on we have seen an increase in the skill of our workforce. The understanding on how to apply these systems have made our staff members adapt new skills and understanding of the business operations at different levels.

Gaining Customers

We chose to gain certification to ISO9001 due to it being a requirement of a potential customer, and purely to win that tender. Following this win, we found that it was actually a requirement of a number of other potential customers who the doors were now open to due to us holding the certification. Having now held the standard for a number of years, we can see a number of other benefits, as well as our continued growth of customers due to us being 9001 certified. We are now considering certification to ISO14001 as well, as this is now becoming a common requirement of our customers.

Protecting Workforce

Being a hands on business, with various labour demands, it made sense from day one for us to adopt ISO45001 - H&S Certification. Having to adapt our processes and working premises to meet the requirements of the standard had an immediate impact on the number of accidents/close calls being recorded. Although these accidents were always small in nature, eliminating them has still had a valuable impact on the state of overall business. The standard has put processes in place that enable us to efficiently identify potential risks and mitigate them effectively.
